This course allows qualified teachers to hone and adapt their existing skills, which they use when teaching adults, into a creative, energetic and engaging pedagogy for young learners. Participants will obtain a further qualification from Cambridge and will be better able to work with young learners around the globe.
The trainees on the course are doing the teaching practice at one of Dubai's own schools, the Dubai Arab American School, with input sessions taking place on IH premises. International House has expanded its library and resources for young learner teachers and teaching so it now includes more of the best and most current YL coursebooks alongside methodology reference books. Many of these are available to buy from the school at very good prices.
The course is accredited by the University of Cambridge and the tutors were brought in specially to run it: Christopher Hart (British but based in Oman) and Joanne Newton (Canadian and based in South Africa).
Proving to be a very popular and challenging course so we look forward to many more running in the future.
