The course offers methods of

Teaching practice is an integral part of the course and takes place
every day.

IH LAC -
International House Language Awareness Course
The International House
Language Awareness Course (IH LAC) has been written with two related
aims in mind:
-
To familiarise course participants with the descriptions
of language commonly found in course books and other published
materials ('pedagogical grammar')
-
To enable course participants to critique such
descriptions, both in terms of their descriptive accuracy, and
their usefulness to learners
Who is it for?
The IH LAC is a course that aims primarily to further participants'
declarative knowledge of language rather than to develop specific
teaching skills. It is, therefore, suitable for teachers at all
levels of experience. Are you a:
-
Practising English teacher who would like to
brush up on your knowledge of grammar?
-
Newly qualified English teacher who would like
to develop your knowledge and improve your confidence when presenting
grammar in the classroom?
-
Pre-experienced Cambridge CELTA / Trinity TESOL
candidate who would like to learn about grammar before attending
the course?
Contents - The contents
of this course offer course participants the opportunity to discuss
how language, or a particular area of it, might best be described
for teaching purposes.
Duration of Course
21 hours
